Carp-o-Rama on Memorial Day Weekend

The air and the water are starting to warm up and the activity in the water is beginning to ramp up. This can only mean one thing, Carp-o-Rama!

Fishing will start this Friday at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the weigh-in on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the beach.

To start the event, we will have kids prizes and a quick demonstration near the dam at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Also, new this year we will have awards for the largest carp and most carp caught for both the adults and the kid’s division (15 and younger). As always, you will receive cash for each carp caught if you are not one of the elite winners. So get your pole, net, and can of corn ready to tackle some of the biggest fish in Sylvan Lake for Memorial Day weekend. Good luck and Carpe diem!

Raft Pontoons, Boats on Beach, and our next Board Meeting

Pontoons Available
With the deconstruction of our broken raft at the beach, we have pontoons available for anyone that would like to take them.  They’re located next to the beach shed near the grill.  We’ll keep them for the next week, but then will look to have them removed by Groot or someone else.

Boats on Beach
Also just a friendly reminder that all watercraft at the beach, except those stored on the boat rack or behind the shed on the other side of the stored piers, must be moved to either your home or an easement by Sunday Nov 15.  They can return to the beach on Mar 15, 2021.  We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the beach as clear as possible during the winter months.

Next Board Meeting
Our next monthly board meeting will be held next Wed, Nov 18 @ 7:30pm at the Countryside Fire Department.

Countryside has a few rules for us to follow:
– Face mask/face covering must be worn while within the building.
– All visitors must sign in at the entrance.
– Visitors must have their temperature checked and logged at the entrance.

Halloween (COVID style)

Due to COVID-19, we wanted to provide some tips this year for Halloween on Saturday. Trick-or-treating will be between 4pm and 8pm. If you are passing out candy, here’s some ideas to keep contact to a minimum:

  • Turn on your porch light to show you’re welcoming trick-or-treaters.
  • Set up outside with a table in your driveway (weather permitting).
  • Put candy in individual bags and lay outside on a table or tray.
  • Use dixie or small cups filled with package candy and have kids take one.
  • Only have a few pieces of candy in the bowl at a time.
  • Face masks should be worn by everybody.

If you’re not comfortable having trick-or-treaters or are not feeling well:
