Spring Cleanup Day!

Date: Saturday, May 22 and rain date, Sunday, May 23

Time: 9:00 am until noon

Lunch: Noon at the beach

Thank you for volunteering to captain an area or to simply help at a park or easement near you. However, we are still in need of volunteers at the following locations:

  • Schwerman Park, Captains Renee Del Missier/Jeri Swanson: General clean up, spread dirt and reseed grassy areas, and plant trees.
  • Schwerman Park Benches, Captains Paul Stempian/Jeff Brashear: Dismantle and rebuild benches
  • Playground Equipment, Captains Bob Mihel/Scott Hanson: Updating hardware
  • Beach Triangle, Captains Fran & Dan Pacheco:  mulch spreading, weeding 
  • Beach, Captain Pete Lund: Sand spreading and piers installation 
  • Maple Park, Captain Mark Anderson: General cleanup of branches and leaves
  • Bjorklund Park, Captain Andi Dickinson: General cleanup and mulch spreading
  • Beach Rock Shoreline, Captain Logan Bellinder: Retrieving rocks from water to reinstall 
  • Buena Terrace, Captain Mara Campbell: General cleanup 
  • Wildflower Terrace, Captain Linda Mihel: General cleanup and weeding
  • Famous Pillars Entryway of Crescent Road, Captains Connor & Natalie O’Brien: General cleanup and spread mulch

Captains needed:

  • Highland Entrance: General cleanup
  • Point Comfort Park: General cleanup

*If you have branches for the Township to pick up on May 24, please neatly stack the cut branch edge at the curbside for ease of pick up and loading. There will be no leaf pick up by the Township, Groot must be used.

*Neighbors Al and Patti Burmeister will drive around handing out water bottles!

*Hey Kids, you can earn double volunteer hours. Please contact Jeri Swanson for details.

  • Ravinia: Erosion Management project is completed, many areas have been seeded. 
  • No work to be done at this time due to new plantings. Please stay off of seed blanketing. 
  • Fenceline on North Sylvan: Eco-Chicks/Eco-Neighbors will work at a later date
  • Juneau Terrace: Eco-Chicks/Eco-Neighbors will work at a later date
  • Briar Terrace: Eco-Chicks/Eco-Neighbors will work at a later date

What do I need to bring with me:

Shovels, work gloves, rakes, pruners, wheelbarrel, chainsaw

Lunch Details: Volunteers needed to cook and serve lunch at the Beach. The Borst family is organizing the food, drinks, and setup. Dan Washburn is cooking and will need a partner. Cooks/Servers will be wearing masks and gloves.
